PICWave Export
Scattering matrix spectra calculated in EPIPPROP can be exported to PICWave so your AWGs and Echelle gratings can be included in large scale photonic integrated circuit simulations including active components.
The FIR section in PICWave allows the spectral response of passive components like AWGs to be imported into PICWave where time domain simulations can be performed; It's as simple as 'copy and paste' to add the results of an Epipprop simulation to PICWave.
In our standard example, the scattering matrix spectrum of a 'Top-Hat' AWG is imported to a PICWave FIR section, including the AWG's facet reflections. These reflections have a significant impact on the eight high reflectivity DFB lasers. Light reflected back into the DFB causes the linewidth of each laser to drastically widen by a factor of roughly 2000 in one case.

See section 8.3.3 of the PICWave manual to learn how to paste an scattering matrix spectrum to an FIR section.
